Global Ethics Fellows lie at the heart of Carnegie Council's Global Ethics Network, a platform for educational institutions around the world to create and share interactive multimedia resources.
Fellows are intellectual leaders capable of contributing to a worldwide discussion of the ethical dimensions of international affairs. Chosen for their expertise in ethics and interest in the Network, Fellows spearhead their universities' involvement in the Network, organize events at their home institutions, and collaborate with other Fellows, students, and Council staff to develop joint research, publications, and multimedia projects.
The latest Fellows to join the roster are based in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Turkey:
Hakan Altinay is chairman of the Open Society Foundation in Istanbul, and a nonresident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. He is a World Fellow at Yale University, and a lecturer at Sabanci University, Istanbul.
Emiliano Buis is a lawyer and associate professor of international law in Argentina at the University of Buenos Aires Law School, the Central University (UNICEN), and the School of National Defense.
Fernanda Duarte is a federal judge in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and a full professor of law at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF).
Seth Lazar is a philosopher, with a special interest in the ethics of killing, and issues in global ethics. He is a continuing research fellow in the Centre for Moral, Social and Political Theory at Australian National University's Research School of Social Sciences.
Roland Paris is University Research Chair in International Security and Governance at the University of Ottawa, founding director of the Centre for International Policy Studies, and associate professor in the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.
These new Global Ethics Fellows join a distinguished roster of 19 other Fellows from around the world. In addition to the nations mentioned above, their countries include China, Denmark, Lebanon, Russia, Taiwan, the UK, and the USA. For a full Fellows list, click here.
