Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs is proud to be a co-sponsor of this important International New York Times Forum.
The Forum
Coinciding with UN International Democracy Day, the Athens Democracy Forum will convene diplomats, scholars, corporate executives, politicians, government ministers, experts, and journalists from around the world. Together, at the ancient Agora—the birthplace of democracy—we will explore the state of liberal democracies and the major challenges they face in the world today.
The Athens Democracy Forum is proud to have the endorsement of UN Secretary General BAN Ki-moon. Read it at athensdemocracyforum.com.
"Greece is the natural home for dialogue on democracy," said Carnegie Council President Joel Rosenthal. "Its history and tradition, its recent struggles, and its geographical position between north and south, east and west, make it the perfect place for purposeful engagement and mutual learning. The Forum is attracting thoughtful people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. We are especially pleased to see active youth engagement through the Student Debate program."
