Building Next-Gen Ethical Leaders
"In the practice of leadership, I constantly ask: What is my true north? What am I willing (and not willing) to do to achieve a goal? And how might those whom I respect judge my actions?" -- Carnegie Council President Joel Rosenthal
Democracy and international cooperation define the Carnegie legacy. And it is precisely these two principles that are most at risk today. This crisis is felt by all, but especially by a rising generation of young leaders.
As we confront major disruptions—including wars in Europe and the Middle East, climate change, isolationism, threats to democracy, mass migrations of displaced peoples, and vast wealth inequality—a new chapter has begun, and it is tinged with doubt.
Carnegie Council’s answer is to provide the next generation with guidance and leadership, collaborative opportunities, educational resources, and the tools necessary to build a community of young people who are committed to ethics, civic participation, and cooperation.
