On May 24, 2024, Carnegie Council President Joel Rosenthal served an as expert panelist for a special event hosted by the Kent Global Leadership Program on Conflict Resolution at Columbia SIPA. Moderated by Marc Jacquand, associate professor of international and public affairs at SIPA, the discussion touched on the state of international law, the ethics of technology, and the role of human agency in the automation of war. Panelists also explored historical lessons in the ethical adoption of technology and how such learnings might be applied today.
