Gullnaz Baig is a Ph.D. candidate in international history at the London School of Economics. She was formerly a senior policy analyst in Singapore.
Baig's interest is political developments in Southeast Asia, and their strategic and security implications. She is also interested in the influence of religious politics on the state.
Baig's current research examines the interaction between post-colonial states and the development of radicalism in Southeast Asia, with a particular concentration on Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Southern Philippines. As a Pacific Delegate, she will explore the different models of an Islamic state and its implications for non-Muslims in Indonesia.
In her free time, Baig enjoys rugby and boxing.
