John Cavanagh is director of the Institute for Policy Studies. Previously, Cavanagh directed the IPS’s Global Economy Project and worked as an international economist for UNCTAD and the WHO. His research focuses on corporate power and globalization,international financial institutions, NAFTA, WTO and trade liberalization, and U.S. politics.
Cavanagh is co-author of “Coalition of the Willing or Coalition of the Coerced? How the Bush Administration Influences Allies in its War on Iraq” (IPS, 2003), co-editor of Alternatives to Economic Globalization: A Better World is Possible (Berrett-Koehler, 2002), and co-author of Field Guide to the Global Economy (New Press, 2000).
