Lee Zhu'ai Siân is completing her master's in international law at the Australian National University, and is also a research assistant at the Singapore Management University.
Her current research interest lies in the legally productive tension resulting from the exercise of international human rights law in domestic and regional contexts, particularly as this pertains to the protection of rights in the face of increasingly expansive notions of state security. With the recently established Thursday Club, she documents the history and growth of local activism in Singapore.
Lee aspires towards becoming a morally principled career diplomat with a keen understanding not only of world affairs but also of the ethical duty incumbent upon power.
