Bio
Margaret Scott is a freelance journalist and an adjunct assistant professor of public administration at NYU Wagner.
Scott, who focuses on the role of Islam in Indonesian politics, writes for The New York Review of Books and The Times Literary Supplement. She previously spent several years working in Tokyo as a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine and The Los Angeles Times Magazine. Scott also worked in Hong Kong as the cultural editor of the Far Eastern Economic Review.
In addition, she has been a reporter for the Dallas Times Herald; the Courier-Post in Camden, New Jersey; and KTCA Public Television in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
