Mia Shah-Dand is CEO of Lighthouse3, a research and advisory firm based in Oakland, California. She advises global organizations on responsible innovation at scale with new and emerging technologies including artificial intelligence.
Her strength is bringing together diverse groups of stakeholders to build human-centric programs at the intersection of emerging technologies, data, and governance. Shah-Dand is also the founder of Women in AI Ethics™ initiative, which is dedicated to increasing recognition, representation, and empowerment of talented women in this space. She created the first 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics™ list in 2018, which is now published annually, and built the Women in AI Ethics™ online directory, a resource to increase representation of women at AI conferences and in the tech industry.
