Nazneen Uddin is a family medicine physician in California's Bay Area. She is passionate about refugee health and volunteers her time with medical trips aiding Syrian refugees.
Uddin completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Michigan and she graduated from the residency program at the University of California, San Francisco. Her interest in global health was sparked after learning Arabic in Jordan and Egypt the year prior to medical school.
In 2011, Uddin spent a year in Malaysia as a Henry Luce Scholar working at various health institutions and NGOs with a focus on marginalized populations. She spent most of her time providing medical care at a refugee clinic and training community health workers through the UNHCR.
She has a special interest in women's health, social determinants of health, and designing preventive health care systems that are culturally sensitive.
