Prahlad Shekhawat is director of the Alternative Development and Research Center in Jaipur, India.
He is a writer and journalist, with a column in Hindustan Times, and an expert consultant on Indian society to the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi. Shekhawat has authored three books on aspects of human development, culture, and well-being, as well as a volume of poetry. His most recent book, forthcoming from Cambridge Scholars Publishing, is New Pathways for Human Progress.
Previously, Shekhawat was an associate professor at the Institute of Development Studies in Jaipur, and a research associate at the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, Netherlands. He is also a teacher of Transcendental Meditation.
He studied creative writing at Exeter College, Oxford University, and received an M.A in development studies from the International Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, Netherlands. He has lectured in Europe and Japan.
