Bio

Rebecca Laks is currently pursuing a Master's of Public Health in the Department of Population and Family Health at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health and is interning at International Planned Parenthood Federation/Western Hemisphere Region.

Laks has worked in reproductive and sexual health research in Africa, in health education at a community clinic in Oakland, California, and has coordinated reproductive and child health projects at a rural Bolivian medical clinic. She has traveled extensively, particularly throughout Latin America, and is interested in the intersection between new media and public health and human rights.
