Stephen F. Cohen was professor emeritus of Russian studies, history, and politics at New York University and Princeton University.
His books include Soviet Fates and Lost Alternatives: From Stalinism to the New Cold War; Failed Crusade: America and the Tragedy of Post-Communist Russia; Voices of Glasnost: Conversations With Gorbachev's Reformers (with Katrina vanden Heuvel); and Bukharin and the Bolshevik Revolution: A Political Biography, 1888-1938.
