Tom Philbeck is managing director at Swiss Foresight and Technology (SWIFT) Partners, a Geneva-based consultancy focused on helping organizations to sustainably integrate emerging technologies. He is also a senior fellow at Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs. The former head of technology, society, and policy at the World Economic Forum, Philbeck led the Forum’s project and content work on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, disseminating insights into global technology development with government, industry, civil society, and research stakeholders.
He currently serves on the advisory board of the EU’s Horizon 2020 TechEthos project and is part of the IEEE's standards working group for AI Governance. He also acts as a senior advisor to the Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator (GESDA). Philbeck strives to bring a variety of perspectives from global stakeholders to bear on emerging and impactful technosocial issues.
